The final match of FUJIFILM SUPER CUP 2023

今日は学びではなく、英語で日記を書きます。(初めての試みです。)

Yesterday (2023-Feb-11th), my wife and I visited Japan National Stadium to watch the final match of FUJIFILM SUPER CUP 2023.

Yokohama F. Marinos vs Ventforet Kofu

It is evident that Japanese football players keep on improving their skills ever since J.League was established in 1993.

Yeah, I'm aware... in the last World Cup in Qatar, Japan lost before the quarter finals... but I am still very proud of Japan national team.

So, why am I writing about football in this article?

Not only because I watched the final match of FUJIFILM SUPER CUP 2023 yesterday, but I'm in fact so thrilled with how Kaoru Mitoma recently plays for Brighton, in the Premier League in England.

According to what I read on the Internet (in Japanese language), British media is praising him a lot.

Even a new word “Mitomagic” is created to emphasise his fine play.

Is this true? I’m just so proud of him.

Anyway, let’s move back to the match we watched yesterday.

Here are a bunch of photos I took with my smart phone.

After the first goal made by Marinos during the first half, they celebrated at front of their supporters.

Ventforet also made a goal, and the score during the first half became 1-1.

Marinos made the second goal during the second half.

Ventforet counterattacked, but they didn’t make the second goal.

In the end, the score turned out to be 2-1.

Well done Marinos for becoming 2023 Champion!

And well done Ventforet for finishing second!

…at front of 50,923 spectators (that was announced during the match)

Surely Japan will continuously improve the skills and move on to play quarter final and beyond in 2026 World Cup!
